Find A Grave
Reviews and Complaints
Information
I find it difficult to find a contact email for anyone at Find A Grave. And there is no phone number for contact either.
This is frustrating when you have a questions that can't be answered through Q&A section. All I want to know is how do you get a memorial number assigned to a deceased person. My grandfather is listed and therefore I can link him to my dad, aunts and uncles. But my grandmother who is buried beside my grandfather is not listed.
She has no memorial number and I would like to know how to get one established so as to link the entire family. I would appreciate a response.

Find A Grave BULLYS Maliciously Attack baby's Memorial
Today in a Find A Grave face Book Group I learned that minimum of 2 women who have been viciously stalking and bullying a woman; by attacking the name of her deceased four year old son.
They have created a memorial for their victims deceased four year old son. Then made upsetting comments in the baby's memorial to emotionally torment the mother.
Jackie Wilson Goddard / AKA Diehard AKA READ THE FAQS has been stalking her victim since July of 2012. Jackie created a fake account and the creator Sylvia transferred the baby's memorial to Jacky Wilson Goddard's fake account. Both parents and a sister have asked the creator to remove the babys memorial because they found the idea of the woman using the death of their loved one as a number in a competition for a game of who can collect the most dead peoples names contest, demeaning to the child's life. SG 's drive to get a top stop is a higher priority than giving a family peace. The woman lives in Texas and achieves her numbers by copying and pasting the names from a Minnesota Database as her own work in to findagrave. This is how she found the name of the four year old who's parents she is Harassing by demeaning the life of their child.
The woman in Texas also stole a photo from the mothers memorial for the child on another website. Billion graves locked down the childs record at request of the mother. The sad part is this woman takes thousands of photos for other people out of the kindness of her heart and the Volunteers from Findagrave putting the baby's name under constant attack makes it impossible for the mother to honor the memory of her child.
JIM TIPTON HAS DELETED UPON REQUEST OTHER MEMORIALS FROM PARENTS WHO WERE UPSET BY STRANGER MADE MEMORIAOLS' FOR THEIR CHILDREN. YET DESPITE A REQUEST MADE BY THE BABYS SISTER TO DELETE THE MEMORIAL HE HAS YET TO REMOVE THIS CHILD'S MEMORIAL ITS POSSIBLE THAT JIM TIPTON IS USING THE CHILD TO EMOTIONALLY ABUSE THE MOTHER BASED ON THE FACT THE OTHER MEMORIALS BY PARENTS WERE DELETED WITH IN 2 DAYS

Find A Grave Super Slow
Find A Grave used to be a great site but when Ancestry bought it and signed the agreement to never charge people they figured they could cash in and run a gazillion ads which makes a contributor's experience so frustrating. I was handed a TON of information that I've been trying to but on for almost a month and have gotten absolutely nowhere.
I've even changed my computers setting to allow pop ups on the site and it was a waste of my time. I find that what little I have put on has made it on Ancestry so they are making a lot of money off it. Who wants to check out all the pop ups or leave ad feedback? Not me.
I e-mailed and was told they were aware of their problem and were looking at ways to fix it but they have to pay their programmer. OMG! Do I need to get someone to build a new site with NO ads?
I'm ready to remove ALL my work! To top it off, my screen turned red today and said the site was unsafe and a report was sent to Microsoft!

Annoying Pop-Up Ads Causing Site to Freeze
There is one thing about Find A Grave that drives me crazy, and that is that they allow so many pop-up ads that the website constantly freezes! Every single time I use Find A Grave, I find myself having to close out of the website numerous times and then go back in because of the pop-up ads causing the site to freeze.
It is beyond me why Find A Grave allows all these annoying pop-up ads. I find it outrageous that such a website allows this!
I will add here that my Pop-Up Blocker does no good! I am sure that I am far from the only Find A Grave user with this complaint!

Furious
- Others deleting memorials i created
- Theft of original memorials i created
- Dealing with horders
Preferred solution: Restoration of my pirated accounts by DieHard and to have her sufficiently reprimanded or permanently removed from the website
Incredible amount of ads make searching virtually impossible
The site was so helpful until a few days ago, when tons of adds started popping up everywhere. It takes roughly ten minutes to find one grave.
Very very poor. The owners of this site must be very greedy people.
Surely one ad would suffice to make it worth their while, but there are at least four, and every last one of them changes every single time you click on another name or even go back to do a new search. This site depends on people volunteering their time and pictures to add new information, but you sure aren't getting anything from them for free!
Preferred solution: Stick to one ad and quit changing it every time I navigate your page
Altered Biography:
- Way others can take over and block original creator
- Accessability
- Not being able to access the information that i know is there

First, if you haven't already, you'll need to create an account.
Once you've done that, navigate the site to the page for the cemetery where your grandmother is buried. Click on "Add a name to this cemetery" on the right.
Fill in the form with your grandmother's info and submit.
Once the memorial is created, you can add the link by going to your grandfather's memorial and copying the memorial number (at the bottom of the page). Go back to your grandmother's memorial and click "Link family members" then paste the number into the box for the Spouse.
Grandma needs a memorial created in order to link her to people who already have memorials.
If you tell me her name, applicable dates, and cemetery I would be happy to make a memorial for her. Or you can get a free account and add her.
