My experience with Find A Grave is that the contributors with thousands of memorials and add hundreds a week are obsessive hoarders. They are not related in any way to those memorials, but they REFUSE to transfer them to family members unless you are within the RULES...

Several months ago when I was a member of Find A Grave. I filed complaints on two people (Mary E. Payne and Toni McFadden) who were harassing me. Nothing was done. Then. One day I find that one of those people (Mary E. Payne) stole my uncles (actually named for him) memorial. Neither Mary Payne nor McFadden are related and it's been authenticated by living immediate relatives although they claim to be. When I filed a complaint with Find A Grave about the stolen memorial, by the end of the evening I found myself kicked off totally I had submitted a copy of my birth certificate as proof of relationship. Now it is several months down the road and to this day after several requests, I have never been told What my crime was. Only that I "Had violated their policy" and that I could regain my membership IF I wrote a letter promising to follow Find A Grave rules and Not To Repeat My Offense. Now how and why would I do that if I don't even know what I supposedly did? And I addressed a letter to them saying as much. Last week I again requested the same and was rudely sent a copy of my last conversation with them again asking what I did. This organization is corrupt and what information you do find on the memorials are not correct. I know that with mine, they have my grandfather having a sister that he never had and my great-grandparents having raised their kids in a town and area that they never lived. And if my family memorials have incorrect information you know that others have the same. This company has No Accountability. User's recommendation: Chose a sight more reliable and professional.

Problems with signing in
My email is marlenedoug@***.com, I forgot my password and was timed out after 30 minutes. Can't get signed back in to use "forgot password" button. In addition, can't seem to get the system to work when I attempt to use the cemetery find feature. I enter country, state and county then hit enter. System appears to hang up at this point. If I enter only a name and DO NOT attempt to do a cemetery find, the system works fine. I didn't have this problem until I lost my sign on. Any help or ideas would be appreciated. Thank you.

I opened up a find a grave account to volunteer as a transcriber, and find some of my deceased family members, as I begin to manage and upload information about them I was blocked from uploading correct information about my family, I have a huge immediate family my immediate grandfather had 13 children, so that is why I was correcting information on some of their memorials I was blocked from adding and updating information.

What items are not permitted on a photo. I had a photo with a border.. I was TOLD by a FAQ member to take it .down or else he would report it to FAG management. I took it down but will repost it if you tell me there is no "regulation against borders." It was plain gold.

Hello David G Stuart ID# 280**** posted wrong information on my friend's memorial page. It is very upsetting for her sister who is disabled and asked me to try and get it taken off. Not only did he add a picture of some girl, he added a maiden name to a lady who was never married. She also never lived in Kansas. Unknown people have added flowers. Inaccurate information
The last I checked, nothing has changed. The information on the script does not match the information on the gravestone. I cannot imagine a family OK ing a gravestone which contains inaccurate information such as the spelling of the deceased persons first name and a different date of death! I do not know where the scripts information came from, but it does not match the information on the gravestone! Maybe someone should check the death certificate in the Cresbard County South Dakota Register of Deeds to get the correct information. I still believe the information on the gravestone is the correct information! Thank you.

Please add my complaint to the ever growing list of dissatisfaction with Find A Grave Practices. My primary concern is that they led one to initially believe they care about family members managing family memorials. This turns out to be true in very limited situations. Primarily, that no one has created the Memorial. If someone has created it, and refuses to transfer to a family member, then you are out of luck. There are very limited instances in which the company will help the family member. But, for all those who are snapping grave photos and have made it another video game to compete based on their total number of Memorials well you are in luck!! Because you can refuse any legitimate family member, and your off to win your game!!

They would have told you what your offense was. Of course, that wouldn't make as good of a story....
What a shame. I too have seen my ancestors on my mother's side with a lot of incorrect info.
Like you wrote, they add relatives that are not related, omit the ones who are.

I agree with all the above. This site is a great site if they would remove some of the crazies from it who hangout daily only to cause chaos and mess up stuff with other families records.
And these same phonies do it deliberately.
Seriously someone needs to look into this as the jealousy there with some people is out of control and quite astounding!!!!! PLEASE leave other peoples families alone if they are not yours!
