No Respect for the DEAD!
The "Guidelines" and "Community Standards" were written by Find a Grave (FAG) administration, not by its members. They are extremely biased toward FAG information-gathering and are not friendly toward family members establishing a respectful, accurate, considerate and non-commercial memorial to their departed loved ones.
There will always be those who are totally ignorant of their heritage and will give FAG kudos for helping them find a loved one's final resting place.
But the majority of people I see posting negatively about FAG say that they are totally unaware of the "whack-os" they harbor within their family. I think I'm addicted to graving" as one member put it -- and FAG does nothing about them as long as they have long membership years and thousands of memorial creations.
These addicted members bully other members, especially family members of the deceased, by every means possible as long as their name and their contributions (correct or incorrect) are undisturbed by family members. It's sort of, "I know more about your family member than you do" mentality, which to my way of thinking is totally bizarre and is an extreme form of narcissistic behavior.
But YOU, if you violate or attempt to step around ONE of their Guidelines or Community Standards, they will hound to death, even threatening expulsion from FAG (which threats violate their own Guidelines against threatening another member -- go figure!).
My bottom line advice is don't post ANYTHING on this site (EVERYTHING becomes de facto FAG's property). They seem especially intent on gathering PHOTOS of your departed loved ones so dont post any photos.
Dont waste your time jumping through all their hoops to correct wrong information of a family member.
It is just not worth the hassle and lack of common sense you will encounter with FAG staff.
Again, post NOTHING on this site because you will lose all control of it. Do your own family research, keep it closed off from the prying of others, and be aware of the ownership (covert) of all the sites owned or managed by this cult-driven organization headquarted in UTAH.

Verified ReviewerDoes Not Use User Verification To Keep Users Safe
Please note: I believe I posted the customer service person's name incorrectly. Double checked her email from Find A Grave and her name is Tracy. Thank you.
My account got hacked by a man who had hacked my Gmail and then he proceeded to *** everything he found in my Gmail.
It goes beyond the hacking though. The jerk found my Find A Grave friend list and sent terrible, humiliating messages to them, except they didn't know I was hacked and must have thought I turned into a complete psycho. Very distressing.
I contacted customer service to tell them what happened and this horribly mean customer service agent Laura basically said I had violated Find A Grave rules, that several notices were sent and I was warned to stop harassing people. Except it wasn't me harassing anyone, it was the *** hacker who knows me in real life and stalks me in real life roo, not just cyber attacks.
I asked her to check IP addresses, asked if Find A Grave does any type of account verification so I could prove it wad not me who harassed scores of people.
She did not respond to that, so clearly they do not have account verification in place. I only write to this Laura girl at Find A Grave twice and she told me to never write to them again and to not bother asking for any site edits because I would not be granted them.
I have cried my eyes out over this situation. 20 years of hard work, hundreds of memorials no longer in my control, I can no longer leave flowers. This hateful girl Laura told me my account was permanently suspended and that I should have heeded the warnings.
I never got any warnings or knew what was happening because the hacker had both my Find A Grave account and my Gmail. I even offered to send Laura a security report from the Hilton Garden Inn in which this stalker followed me there and knocked on my door to come after me.
I wanted to prove to her that I was actively being stalker and the *** cyberstalks me as well. No answer to that either.
My user name of 20 years there was Eternity Persephone.
Preferred solution: My Find A Grave Account Eternity Persephone returned to me. I did not do the heinous acts I am being accused of. Let me verify myself and prove I am the owner of the account.
User's recommendation: Don't devote 20 years of your life to Fibd A Grave like I did. Lax if any.security practices.

Verified ReviewerNames on graves being altered
My Aunt had a friend who added a dash - in between maiden and last name. This - does not reflect name properly...you do not look for a dash in the name when looking for a relative. I have not seen that format in any other findagrave description.

Grave Site Management
People can manage your family graves without your knowledge or permission, and when asked to let you manage your own family they refuse. IF no one else is interested in a grave ok I get it, but when a family member requests to manage it, I find it very unethical to allow this. And they can put wrong information on it and there is nothing you can do about it.

If you would read the Help section and follow the guidelines, you would be able to obtain management of certain relatives. As far as wrong info on those you cannot manage, you can submit edits and if they are declined, you can submit proof like posting the documentation on the memorial and if declined again, you can send the decline email to support@***.com and they will look into making any changes they see that need to be made.
Incorrect information, even after you supposedly changed name
There should be a way to actually talk to someone about a problem, because I feel they cant understand whats going on otherwise. Twice I have made suggestions, and it comes back that nothing was changed when in all actuality I had added names and need one deleted.
Mine is an unusual situation. I have an aunt, Nellie May Counts #7851**** who married William Templeton Chapman. There is another Nellie May (Johnson) who married William Thomas Chapman. Notice both gentlemens initials are WTC and ladies are both Nellie May.
Well Nelly May Johnson #5819**** Chapman has been added as a sibling to my Nellie May Counts Chapman (b 6 Nov 1915) - d 26 Jan 1983), which needs 2B deleted. And to make matters worse, both Nellie Mays have been added as children to my grandparents, George William #6997**** and Eliza Jane Martin Counts #6997**** memorials.
So U C there IS a problem that needs 2 B taken care of.
Enclosed are the Find-A-Grave ID# for the Nellys and my grandparents.
I hope you can decipher all this correctly. Please notify me if you have a problem to avoid further issues.

FINDAGRAVE ABUSE AND INCORRECT FAMILY DATA
Everybody needs to check out Findagrave posts on REDDIT. VERY INFORMATIVE!
There is a large group of people who are filing Class Action lawsuits against Blackstone Group out of New York who bought out Findagrave and Ancestry. Findagrave has destroyed correct family heritage, very much destroyed on that site. Fi This contributor "Busy Graven" refuses to transfer my close family memorials for several years now.
Sends me disgusting and cruel messages. Findagrave does nothing about this idiot that's been reported by many of us.

11/12 years with them down the drain all because they want to steal. They stole 2 memorials from me and refused to give me credit which I do NOT appreciate at all.
Deleted my account forever. I AM DONE. I literally cannot give them anymore chances to screw me over. I flat out REFUSE.
Screw them and ancestry.
Screw em' all. I hope someone files a lawsuit against them.

My Account Was Wrongfully Permanently Suspended
I was a member of Find A Grave for nearly 20 years. A hacker got into my Gmail account and from there got my Find A Grave info and harassed and bothered people on the site under my credentials.
My user name was Eternity Persephone. Find A Grave permanently suspended my account of nearly 20 years. They have no type of security or account verification to protect its users from this. I want my account back.
I did nothing wrong. A sick hacker has done this on many of my accounts, falsely impersonating me.
The other places were very kind and respectful to me. Find A Grave customer service agent Tracy was rude, disrespectful and told me to never contact Find A Grave again.

I would like to "THANK YOU" Find A Grave by not allowing the "Act of Fraud" being played out by banning a contributor know as Kari Norstog #12728****. After Kari Norstog was banned from "Find A Grave" on April 15, 2014, Kari Norstog signed up eight more times as a contributor to Find A Grave. Find A Grave deleted all the fraudulent names provided by Kari Norstog.

I didnt get the menu selection about correcting a listing on Findagrave. Something concerning DNA!

Steven Vitoux cremated not interred.
He died 8/23/24.
My Grandmother who died in 1960 and shows her buried in old union cemetary in Valpo. She is actually buried in Graceland.

Ha ha. Worry about your own tarnished reputation being declared a dangerous bully by Sone Find A Grave users and that you have made people very afraid of you there. Before declaring me a "crazy" you better get a mental health intervention because you have been terrorizing the users of Find A Grave. That is very troubling to find out.
