Seven months ago I tried to log onto FindAGrave and forgot my password and I might have a different email address. So I made another account (49802468). My original account is 46897013 and is where all my contributions are. I don't know how to get into that account and...

This website (Pissed Consumer) is a 3rd party complaint site. It has nothing to do with Find A Grave administration so no one here can help you. You need to contact Find A Grave by email.

Recently I have been working on my family's genealogy and noticed that it will say that the person in question isn't buried there. This occurred when I checked a relative that I knew was buried there. My question is if there's no memorial on a grave, does Find A Grave...

No. People that run Findagrave don't know where your relatives are buried unless a memorial has been created.

All they do is administer the site. Individual members created memorials and add to a cemetery listing.

They can be based off of tombstone photos, obituaries, newspaper articles, death certificates and funeral home records. Hope that answers your question.

Find A Grave Genealogy Record
Reason of review
Bad quality
Find a Grave has allowed my ancestors to be kidnapped and have posted false cemetery details. They need to be more careful and ONLY post memorials that have PROOF of descendancy from the ancestor.

Find A Grave is a collaborative website where anyone can post final disposition information. That means your neighbor can go to the local cemetery and photograph every marker, then create memorials for them (if there isn't a memorial for them already).

That's what Find A Grave wants everyone to do. Members are not limited to doing just their relatives or direct ancestors.

Been a member on Find a Grave for 4 years and have yet to be asked to pay for anything. You obviously must be doing something wrong.

Just contact the person who added the original photo and ask them to remove it. You can add your own photo any time as long as there is room.

There is a maximum amount of photos that can be added. I am a frequent contributor on this site and have learned a lot about photos and edits.

The concept of a volunteer submission website is fundamentally flawed because the quality control measures aren't there. ANYONE can sign up and post ANYTHING. Many have good intentions but you know what they say about those. The 'take all comers' philosophy has...

Find-a-Grave is focused on one thing: numbers. Look all over the site - on the main page you see mention of statistics like X- million cemetery records. In the contributor profiles you see X memorials added, X photos added, etc. Then there is the 'Top Contributors'...

Incorrect.

"Any contributor with 20,000 or more memorials did NOT visit all of those graves."

If someone has been a FG member for 10 years, that would only be 2k memorials per year. I can easily photograph over 200 graves in one afternoon.

And those are quality photos.

In 7 years on FG, I have created over 20k memorials, all from visiting the graves.

BUT, FG doesn't require visiting the grave. If they did, those "genealogy" people who have never visited their 2nd great grandparents' graves would not be able to create them either.

I think this site is bogus. I have searched for many people on this site-even regarding the relatives that I know where they are buried and this site claims a negative. Following this is a plea for a "donation." Thanks, but NO thanks! I'll find information somewhere...

You should read the rules before you start complaining. No where does it say every grave is on the site.

I don't care if they get paid or not, but they need to stop trolling the newspaper and entering people before they are even buried or using books. Both are clear violations of the rules, but they get away with it.

I am losing all respect for SAID VOLUNTEERS. And NO THEY WILL NOT JUST HAND ONE OVER THAT THEY TOOK FROM A NEWSPAPER !!!!!!!! I HAVE BEEN TRYING FOR MONTHS TO GET ONE THAT WAS DONE THE DAY AFTER SHE DIED !!!

HER NAME IS WRONG AND EVERYTHING IS WRONG ON IT !!!!!!!! THEY WON'T EVEN DO CORRECTIONS.
