Anyone doubting the validity of the complaints on this site should visit the Better Business Bureau of Utah. Find a Grave was founded in Provo, Utah.

Just Google "Find a Grave Complaints", it is the third hit on the list, or visit:

Utah BBB rating for Find-a-Grave: F on a scale of A to F.

Find a Grave is not a non-profit organization. I tried contacting the admins of the site a few months ago (when I had no idea about their reputation) and never received a reply.

I am not at all surprised after reading comments posted here, and the Better Business Bureau of Utah also confirmed they are not in the habit of responding to complaints.

I read the BBB complaint and response where tipton refused to remove memorials that a member created. His arrogant response speaks volumes of his character or lack there of...shame on you tipton!

as to the original poster, your post leaves me wondering just what the *** you're complaining about. you made no concrete statement about the problem *** presented.

if you want to learn about how *** works, try visiting the discussion forums, and post your query coherently.

you'll be surprised at what you may learn about the site and how it functions.

to "ihatefindagrave", perhaps you need to figure out the mission of the web site.

if your account was suspended, it was because you repeatedly violated the FAQs, which are very clearly spelled out for you. no sympathy.

The two previous comments (Me, Nicky5) are so obviously prejudiced. Someone said it much better than I can: "Find A Grave says their company goal is to honor the dead with their website.

They are not honoring the dead by allowing total strangers to "own" memorial pages of strangers and to not correct them when given the information by a loving relative. - See more at: http://www.bbb.org/utah/business-reviews/cemetery-equipment-and-supplies/find-a-grave-in-provo-ut-2227****/complaints#breakdown"

I did go to the BBB of Utah as suggested above and read every single complaint in detail. If you do the same, you will see Find a Grave listened to the complaints and attempted to come to an agreeable solution.

All but one or two complaints were solved and the couple of complaints that remained unsolved were not for lack of trying on the Part of Find a Grave. They do have 3 or 4 pending cases from this year not resolved as yet.

Overall they attempted to resolve the issues but there will always be some people you can not please no matter what you do. And that is an unfortunate fact.

I filed a complain with BBB of Utah and Jim Tipton's response was a joke he refused to remove the more than 20 thousand memorials I created. It's one thing to have your account suspended but quite another when he STEALS your work so that he can continue to profit from it....yeah f.a.g has a big fat F! rating it should be ***
